Saturday Morning’s Farmer’s Market Photo Shoot

August 9, 2014

Living a block away from the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market is awesome. I am often there helping my Dad and brother with their booth but they were MIA this week. But… I needed some food for the week and knew exactly what would happen when I got home… #PhotoShoot I am sort of obsessed with nice food photography on Instagram so I thought I should give it a try. So below are a few more pics from my “Farmer’s Market Photo Shoot”.

Fresh Produce from the Farmers Market

With some quick editing in Lightroom, a photo editing app, and a VSCO filter, I am pretty happy with how they turned out. I found out a couple of weeks ago that my black dining room table actually makes for a pretty good little set for taking pictures.

Tiny Tomato and Pepper

I picked up a collection of heirloom tomatoes, some shishito peppers, purple carrots, deep purple potatoes, and some tiny-leaf basil. All of this was from Kaiser Farms in Waverly, Iowa. Lindsey is great and is always super knowledgeable about what she grows. For instance… the shishito peppers. I had no idea what kind of pepper they were and she quickly rattled off an easy recipe. I was sold.

If I ever move to a bigger city distance to a Farmer’s Market will be one of the things taken into consideration. They are really one of the great parts of summer… it’s far more fun than a grocery store.

Carrots and Cabbage - Farmer's Market Produce

I have no desire to turn this into a food blog… but food + travel + photos are pretty much my three greatest joys in life. Enjoy!
